SUMMARY:Fall Fun Days
DESCRIPTION:\nWhen: October 30 (Friday) & 31 (Saturday), 2020 from 10 am – 3 pmCost: FREE for Members or with General Admission\n\n\n\nCome join us for a day (or two) full of surprises! Watch a video of the Museum’s volunteer divers carving pumpkins UNDERWATER!  Learn about the only mammal that can fly, during Science on the Spot. Enjoy crafts, Animal Presentations, and more.\n\n\n\nOn Saturday, there will be special presentations and hands-on demonstration where participants can play with their candy, see if a pumpkin floats, and watch an explosive reaction!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCandy Chemistry Hands-on Demonstration\n\n\n\nDuring this session, participants will get to try two hands-on activities. You will get to build a structure with candy pumpkins and use M&Ms to create a rainbow while learning about why sugar is sweet and a source of quick energy.\n\n\n\nPumpkin Density Presentation\n\n\n\nPumpkins are really heavy! In this presentation, the density of different sized pumpkins will be tested in water! Will it sink or float? There will also be another experiment involving bubbles and dry ice! Can the bubble be held or will they pop? Come test your hypothesis with these fun, fall experiments.\n\n\n\nSugar Rush!\n\n\n\nThis explosive demonstration will show the reaction between potassium chlorate and sugar.  Sugar is a great quick source of energy because it is so easily digested, but the easy digestion comes at a cost.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n\n\nFriday, October 30:\n\n\n\nUnderwater Pumpkin Carving Video: All Day in TrekSpiders Special!
