SUMMARY:Animal Enrichment Day & Underwater Pumpkin Carving
DESCRIPTION:\nSaturday, October 31FREE for Members or with General Admission\n\n\n\nAt 11 am and 2 pm, there will be a live underwater pumpkin carving by divers in the Oceans Tank.  If you miss the live demonstration or want to avoid the crowd, a video from a previous underwater pumpkin carving will play until 2 pm.\n\n\n\nCarved pumpkins will be placed in the live animal enclosures in the Discover Exhibit. The pumpkins provide extra enrichment activities and a special treat for the live animals. The carvings will be based on the winning designs from the Pumpkin Stencil Contest ( https://www.cookmuseum.org/pumpkin-stencil-design-contest-2026/ ).\n\n\n\nEnrichment allows animals in captivity to experience something new and stimulating. This keeps their minds and senses active while encouraging the animals to use their natural behaviors. Look for additional enrichment in the following Exhibits: Discover, Rivers & Streams, Oceans, and the Wonderful World of Insects. Some of the tanks will include Lego builds made by guests at Animals at Play Fun Day. Complete the scavenger hunt for a post card featuring one of the Museum’s live animals.\n\n\n\nEnjoy a craft & coloring activity and take home a Halloween Treat Bag from the Cook Museum.\n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n\n\n\nLive Underwater Pumpkin Carving in the Oceans Tank: 11 am & 2 pm\n\n\n\nBatty About Bats Science on the Spot: 12:30 pm\n\n\n\nCraft & Coloring: 10 am – 2 pm\n\n\n\nUnderwater Pumpkin Carving Video: 10 am – 2 pm\n\n\n\nHalloween Treat Bags: All Day\n\n\n\nLive Animal Enrichment in the Exhibits: All Day\n\n\n\nSpider Special!
