February Homeschool Classes

All four classes will be sold as a unit for the same time slot each month.

Limited spots available. Admission to the Exhibits is not included. All sales are final, no refunds.

Grades K – 2: Amazing Animals  – Arthropods

Monday, February 16: 9:30 am, 11 am, & 1 pm
Tuesday, February 17: 9:30 am

Spiders and scorpions and millipedes, oh my! In this class, learn about some of the different types of creepy crawlies in the world and discuss why they are so important in their ecosystems.

Grades 3 – 6: Sinkhole Cavers

Monday, February 16: 9:30 am, 11 am, & 1 pm

Caves and sinkholes are fascinating places! Come model both while learning what karst topography is and how it impacts the world around us.

Grades 7 – 12: Movin’ Right Along

Monday, February 16: 9:30 am & 11 am
$56 (+ tax) per participant, per semester (4 classes)

What are the different ways living organisms move? Identify the fastest and slowest movers. Observe living organisms as they move and relate their motion to Newton’s Laws of Motion. What’s the difference between speed, velocity, and acceleration? Design and perform experiments using different objects to determine rates of speed, velocity, and acceleration.
