Public Camps

Camp programs at the Cook Museum can vary from half-day camps to a full week of fun for campers for ages 4 – 12. Camps are typically offered on during School Breaks, the summer, or public holidays. Limited spots available. Admission to the Exhibits is not included. 

There are two ways to register: in person at the Guest Services desk in the Museum lobby or contact the Group Sales department during regular weekday business hours at (256) 898-6312.

For A Day Camps

Offered multiple times through the year, typically on either a Saturday or a Public Holiday
Grade Level: 4th – 8th
Cost: $145 (+ tax) per participant, per day, $15 Member discount

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work at the Cook Museum of Natural Science? What would you have to know? What would you get to do? Come join us as we explore many of the careers at the Cook Museum. Experience live animal feedings, behind the scenes tours, science and design classes, independent workstations, dissections, and much more! Lunch and a t-shirt included.

  • Aquarist for a Day (One Day) 
    Experience live animal feedings, behind the scenes tours, ocean classes, independent workstations, and even a shark dissection! 
  • Herpetologist for a Day (One Day) 
    Experience live animal feedings, behind the scenes tours, herpetology classes, independent workstations, and even a frog dissection! 
  • Entomologist for a Day (One Day) 
    Experience behind the scenes tours, entomologist classes, independent workstations, and even a grasshopper dissection! Participants will go outside to learn insect collection methods and take home an insect they pinned.
