January Homeschool Classes

Grades K – 2: Amazing Animals – Invertebrates

Did you know that over 95% of all animals don’t have a backbone? Start the semester off strong by discovering how scientists classify animals and explore some of the major types of invertebrates such as snails, jellyfish, sea stars, and more!
Grades 3 – 6: Soil Sleuths

There’s a lot to learn about dirt! Investigate several different types of soil with test kits to discover what the ground under our feet is made of.
Grades 7 – 12: High Flyers
Monday, January 19: 9:30 am & 11 am

Birds are born to fly, and people are not. What principles of aerodynamics and flight affect both birds and airplanes? Examine the natural structures present in bird species that enable flight. Make and test a bird wing model. Examine the structures on model airplanes that allow planes to fly. Finally, build and test fly technical models of paper airplanes to see the principles of aerodynamics and flight in action!
